Proposed Itinerary

Day 1: Budapest - Arrival- Cocktail Cruise with Live Music

Arrive Budapest - Private car transfer to hotel. Budapest’s beauty is not all God given; humankind has played a role in shaping this pretty face too. Architecturally, the city is a treasure trove, with enough baroque, neoclassical, Eclectic and art nouveau buildings to satisfy everyone. Overall, though, Budapest has a fin de siècle feel to it, for it was then, during the capital’s ‘golden age' in the late 19th century, that most of what you see today was built. Day free at leisure. Evening : Proceed for COCKTAIL CRUISE WITH LIVE MUSIC ON THE DANUBE - Explore Budapest the classiest way possible, on a magnificent river cruise, with a large glass of cocktail in your hand, watching the marvellous colours of the setting sun behind the hills of Buda reflected by the Danube! The 2 hour long program starts at 7pm and includes 2 large cocktails, which you may choose from a diverse cocktail menu. We have non-alcoholic options available as well! The boat starts from the middle of the city and it passes underneath all the 6 main bridges of Budapest, providing breath-taking views while the city slowly shifts into the night. You may enjoy the cruise from the heated or air conditioned interior of the boat, or have an unconcealed perspective from the open upper deck of the ship. Enjoy the breeze, and breathe in the city’s changing atmosphere! In the inner deck of the boat, you will be serenaded with live music from four members of the Hungaria Folk Ensemble playing popular favourites and local classics for your amusement. Overnight at your Hotel.

Day 2: Budapest- Grand city tour and Parliament with hotel pick up

You will visit the most important sights of this impressive city including Erzsébet square, the Opera House, Heroes’ Square, Millennium Memorial, Downtown Budapest, Erzsébet Bridge, The Danube, Gellért Hill, Margit Bridge, and the Parliament. Take a look at Gellért Hill, right next to the River Danube which flows majestically through the centre of the stunning city. It was precisely the combination of the relative ease of crossing the River here and the natural protection that the hill offered against invasion which told the earliest settlers it was the ideal place to build a town. From Gellért Hill you have spectacular views back over the city including the Parliament and Erzsébet Bridge. Enjoy the green spaces in Erzsébet square, and then see the grand Opera House, a richly-decorated building built in neo-Renaissance style, with elements of Baroque. Heroes’ Square contains the Millennium Memorial dedicated ""to the memory of the heroes who gave their lives for the freedom of [Hungarians] and [Hungary’s] national independence."" The back of the monument consists of two matched colonnades, each with seven statues representing great figures of Hungarian history. Heading back to downtown Budapest, there is further opportunity to soak in the beauty of this magical city. On the magnificent River Danube see Margit Bridge in all its glory, crossing the river and linking Margit Island to the mainland. After the city tour you will visit the impressive house of Parliament with its magnificent neogothic chambers and staircases and the home of the Holy Crown of Hungary. Overnight at the hotel.

Its these same travertine formations that have and are still creating the numerous magnificent waterfalls here. Over time, the water changes its course, leaving some barriers dry as it deposits new layers elsewhere. This constant evolution makes the Plitvice Lakes never look the same.
